Do and don't before and while travelling in another country






1.     Plan your trip well  in advance. Be well acquainted  with your entitlements and regulations.

2.     Keep a watch on current exchange rates and plan your trips and purchases accordingly

3.     You have to  pay our hotel bills and buy your rail and air tickets in foreign currency only, in cash or traveler’s cheques.

4.     Keep the purchase vouchers for your high value articles handy to show to the customs authorities.

5.     Make a correct declaration to the customs authorities  in regard to your baggage and currency.

6.     Exchange our money through authorized money changers and banks only.

7.     Insist on  a receipt who wen is exchanging your money.

8.     Retain all exchange receipts  with you to enable you to reconvert your absent money on your final departure from the country.

9.     Export of most of the wildlife and their products is banned or strictly regulated in many countries. The export of a few permissible items even as tourists' personal baggage is allowed only under an appropriate  export permit.

10.  Insist  on getting  a certificate for the legitimate sale of a particular animal product and permission for its export to avoid any inconvenience at the time of final departure.

11.    If you wish to visit any prohibited or restricted area, check with nearest governments of tourist office the formalities required to be completed.

12.      Check the nearest government of tourist office the rules regarding photography at out archaeological monuments.

13.    Satisfy yourself fully before signing any paper or document.

14.     Keep your documents and TBRE form safe. Also keep the articles allowed  released on your undertaking  on TBRE form sale. If stolen or lost  you may have to pay the customs duty because police reports is of no avail.

15.     If you beggage or part of it is under detention pending clearance etc obtain a copy of detention of receipt.

16.  Reach the airport well before your departure time so as to complete your formalities.

17.   In case of any difficulty  contact the nearest tourist bureau or the police station

18.    Keep away touts and brokers.

19.    See that the meter of taxi and the auto rickshaws are flagged in case they have meters. Insist on the latest fare chart and pay accordingly

20.   Don’t exchange your money with some stranger other than an authorized  money changer

21.    Purchase your air, rail or bus tickets from authorized counters.

22.  Always keep yourself well supplied with small notes and coins for convenience in payments

23.      Don’t encourage beggars in the way.

Two more things if you are coming to India


1.     While visiting Sikh and Muslim shrines it is obligatory to over your head before entering the shrines

2.     Take off your footwear while entering in Hindu, Muslim, Sikh or gain or any other place  of worship. Some temples do not permit leather articles to be taken in.

Keep all these things in mind and enjoy the beautiful and astonishing tourist spots.
